This policy outlines how merchants can request the deletion of URLs submitted through bepay's platform and what happens to associated data when an account or URL content is removed.

2. Scope of This Policy:

This privacy policy applies specifically to:

  • Merchants who have submitted URLs, links, or associated metadata via bepay's platform.
  • Requests related to removing, anonymizing, or erasing such content from bepay's systems.
  • The process bepay follows when verifying, processing, and executing deletion requests.
  • The automatic erasure of URL-related data upon account deletion.

3. Information Collected Related to URL Submissions:

When merchants submit URLs through bepay's platform, the following information may be collected and processed:

  • Submitted URLs or web links associated with user transactions, account settings, or merchant activities.
  • Metadata related to the submission, including submission timestamps, associated account details, and technical logs.
  • Device and browser information linked to the URL submission for security monitoring.

4. Requesting Deletion of User-Submitted URLs:

4.1 Eligibility for Deletion Requests

Merchants may request the deletion of submitted URLs under the following circumstances:

  • The URL contains personal, sensitive, or incorrect information that the user no longer wishes to associate with their account.
  • The URL is linked to outdated, expired, or non-functional content that is no longer relevant to bepay's services.
  • The URL was submitted erroneously or without proper authorization by the user.
  • Deletion is required for compliance with applicable privacy laws, such as GDPR, CCPA, or other jurisdictional regulations.

4.2. How to Submit a Deletion Request

To request the deletion of a URL submitted to bepay's platform, merchants must:

  1. Submit a written request via bepay's privacy support portal or designated email address.
  2. Provide necessary details, including:
    • The URL or link(s) to be deleted.
    • The account associated with the submission.
    • The reason for deletion, including any relevant legal or compliance justifications.
  3. Complete identity verification, ensuring that the request originates from the rightful account owner.

4.3. Automatic Deletion Upon Account Closure

  • If a merchant deletes their bepay account, all associated URLs, search history, and stored data will be automatically erased from bepay's systems.
  • Merchant will receive a confirmation message stating that all linked data, including URL submissions, has been permanently deleted.
  • Once the account is deleted, this action cannot be undone, and bepay will not be able to recover the removed data.

4.4. Processing & Response Timeline

  • bepay will review deletion requests within 10 business days from the date of submission.
  • If additional verification or legal review is required, merchants will be notified of the expected processing timeframe.
  • Upon approval, bepay will permanently delete the specified URL content from its systems and confirm the completion of the request.

5. Data Retention & Exceptions:

While bepay aims to fulfill valid deletion requests, certain circumstances may require us to retain URL data for a defined period:

  • If the URL is associated with ongoing transactions, disputes, or regulatory investigations, bepay may temporarily retain the content until such matters are resolved.
  • bepay may retain anonymized metadata for statistical analysis, fraud detection, and compliance audits, ensuring that no personally identifiable information remains accessible.
  • In cases where deletion conflicts with regulatory or financial obligations, bepay may decline the request and provide an explanation to the user.

6. User Rights & Legal Compliance:

bepay merchants have the right to:

  • Request the deletion, correction, or restriction of their URL-related data.
  • Obtain confirmation of whether their request has been successfully processed.
  • Appeal a denied request, if applicable, through bepay's privacy dispute resolution mechanism.
  • File a complaint to either the Redressal Officer/Grievance Officer if they believe their privacy rights have been violated.

7. Policy Updates & Amendments:

  • bepay reserves the right to update this URL deletion policy to align with evolving data protection laws and platform security measures.
  • Any material updates will be communicated via email, platform notifications, or our official website.
  • Continued use of bepay's services following a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

8. Children's Privacy:

  • bepay's services are not intended for individuals under the age of 13.
  • If we receive actual knowledge that anyone under 13 years of age has provided personal information without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information from our services as quickly as is reasonably practical.
